it does not actually explain the high tyre useage: that is more likely a) the driver never kept the tyre pressure right ( about 1/2 the cars in our car park i guess), thus getting premature wear b) it was used in high puncture risk areas like building sites etc But the good news is the big lease companies will maintain the vehicle in A1 nick using main dealers and will have great leverage with tyre distributors and never fit anything less than premium brands. last year I had 5 new Continetal run-flats*on my BMW company car ( 4 wear 1 x puncture) which as a paying punter would have left me about £1250 out of pocket. My beemer is due to go back in 10 weeks at 54k miles and in that time it will be getting two more rear run-flats and a set of rear discs and pads and i'll make sure it's done so the next person who buys it at auction isn't going to get a thousand pound surprise. * run flat tyres are not repairable, the best invention in the world IF you are not paying for them, 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . I can't comment as I've never had a personal contract hire Tigger, I get a company vehicle leased by my employer (via Leaseplan for the last 12 years ) I can honestly say I've never had an issue. everything has been sorted out pronto, always BMW service, tyres ,even this year after two out of warranty attempts by BMW to re-programme a clutch judder away I ended up with a new clutch and a new (dreaded) DM flywheel You are absolutely right about the end of Lease charges for damages beyond their "fair wear and tear "policy ( we get a pictorial reference book ) , but again as a company car driver it's something I don't have to pay for. I think as we discussed before I've considered leaving the scheme to fund my own car, but am sticking with a somewhat uninspiring choice of vehicles v something nicer as being the lowest cost method of running a new car with no surprises. so I still think that an ex Lease vehicle from a reputable company can be a good buy. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles .
