What's this?

I lifted up the back seats today to vac out the bits, first time I've done this. I noticed this thing under the drivers side passenger seat, anyone know what it is?

not sure that's right CG if it was they wouldn't need to drop the fuel tank to get to the sender units and I know at least one post has bemoaned the fact this doesn't line up with either of the sender units.

All that said I don't know what its purpose is!!

I think CG may be correct. They drop the tank to access the fuel pumps as it's a saddle back tank with a pump either side as far as I understand it. Audi A4 Avant 2.0 tdi 05 Liquid Blue
