Exhaust trim ??

Has anyone had a exhaust trim fitted to the FL2 TD4 as yet, as I saw a FL2 in the showroom with a full body kit on and it had a rather cool looking stainless steel/chrome exhaust trim (being the diesel there was I cut out underneath for the real tail pipe to vent)

But the dealer says the only way of getting the exhaust trim is to order the complete body kit?? Anyone know any different.

Thanks for the info, I also have seen a freelander with a new exhaust trim I did not know that it only came with the body kit I will have to find out more info about this

Nick at Yeovil LR Phoned to say he can now get the steel Exhaust trims for the FL2 diesel .

They are £75+ VAT but he does offer a discount to the forum.

Yes, I saw it too, and it looked cool !

However, with the existing exhaust coming out the back in a straight line, I wondered where the downward bend comes from ! Does the pipe have to be cut, and the new attachment welded complete with downturn? Or have I missed something obvious !

Anyone got access to one to compare ?

The actual exhaust exits out of a cut-out in the base of the trim ,the trim fits over the original pipe fixed with a couple of allen bolts

Would this be helpful in reducing Diesel splutter over my caravan when towing? Jonathan

I can`t see that it would help - it doesn`t alter the original pipe position or shape - it is simply a cover. Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly!

Yes, but it does deflect exhaust gases downward instead of straight out the back. I think it would help somewhat, and does make the back end of the vehicle more "finished off". The existing pipe looks more loke something off a truck, nothing like as neat as the D3.

Just looked at the picture in the gallery part number looks like LR003924

Yes thats the part number,it comes as part of the body kit (which is LR002515-003918) but you can get the dealer to order just the exhaust trim.If you order it from Yeovil ,Nick will take 10% off.

Picked up my Exhaust trim from dealer today, price and part ref as quoted before.
A 15mm Spanner and a bit of wiggling and it is on!

These trims look lovely!!!!

Before i purchase one though, whats the trick to keeping them clean and stainless steel looking.

My last car (a Kia Sportage XS '05) had twin stainless steel exhaust and the stainless steel (chrome?) became too dirty to come back to the original shine?

Is there a trick to keeping them looking new?
