It won't happen, this will be the one thing that our Goverment fights, they rely on to much cash from speeding fines. The technology is out there to link all our speeds to GPS so we would never be able to speed, they did a trial on it in Leeds a few years back but nothing came of it. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Put into practice the shooting on site of middle lane hogs, driving back from Scotland yesterday was dreadful, always the same type of car too, a supermini fully loaded with Mum at the wheel.

So the EU plan of having all new vehicles have silly fairy lights so they can be soon hasn't really helped I suppose. |

I can't see other Europeans, especially the German motorists, going along with that! Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! |

As these units will need GPS to determine the speed limit withinm the location you are driving and the ability to be updated remotely to ensure they are up to date with roadworks, new roads etc... I would say it was far more to do with tracking motorists every move than about speed limits. And then you are a tiny step away from road charges per mile driven on road type/area/time of day. Also being able to stop a car driving at all, or in certain areas or certain times of day. Total remote control for the authorities. How they rub their hands with glee.
