When I asked about taxis (back to the Coniston Hotel) was told there would be about a 10-20 min wait, so would just need booking before dessert, or coffee etc. In the end I drove, so can't tell you what the wait actually was. Having eaten at the Durham Ox in Crayke, I can heartily recommend it, but no idea about local caravan sites. Also ate at the Black Swan, which was very nice. If you're a foodie then perhaps L'Enclume in Cartmel, but don't know if that's too far, or too expensive. They also have rooms, some at reasonable prices, if you wanted to leave the caravan behind. |

Thats good to know, 10-20 minute wait isn't too bad when you time it right
