Isle Of Man 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

All this talk of discos is giving me itchy feet, I absolutely loved my D3 but I sold because I spent most of the time in it myself. I'm really tempted to go back to one maybe next year, I've got an excuse now I have two greyhounds that would appreciate the gargantuan boot.

For me it's a great all rounder, tows like a train, seats 7 adults in comfort not like those pathetic seats in the sport and the best van on the road. I hope LR retain the stepped roof line, that to me is the Discoverys signature shape.

The outgoing RRS is just a Disco in a party dress, no more a Range Rover than Freelander.

I've got to say the last sentence is complete rubbish.
I swapped my V8 RRS for my present LR2 and I miss it like hell; there is just no comparison.
I wasn't covering the miles enough to warrant the devaluation sitting in the garage, but I wish I could wind the clock back, as I would gladly accept that now. The FL2 just doesn't give me the feeling of pride, or comfort, or performance, it's just another car.
Not being a snob, or poser, just the facts as I see them Sad Now - Black 2012 FR2 SD4 XS really miss the RRS
Gone - Black 2008 3.6 TDV8 RRS orgasmic
Gone - Black 2006 2.7 HSE RRS problems
Gone - Green 2008 SWB Defender fully loaded; brill
Gone - Green 2005 Disco diesel; brill
Gone - Black 2003 Disco diesel; brill

England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver

Don't but a Vauxhall Insignia in metallic black!!!!

I normally keep a car for three years. Buy a 12-18 month old car. Did this last November for the Insignia. It was a Sports Tourer. Lovely car to drive and practical - loads of room in the back for the dog. But that paint work. Scratch after scratch after scratch. Decided 3 weeks ago to cut my losses and swapped it (plus a bit of money) for a 2009 FL2 with 74k on the clock.

Much happier now.

The only thing the outgoing Sport shared with the Range Rover was the TDV8 engine, once LR put the 4.4 into production and couldn't fit it under the bonnet all that was left was a Disco in fancy clothes. At least now the new Sport shares the D7u platform with proper Range Rover.

Not saying its a bad car, I've never owned one, driven one a few times but for me wasn't anything special over and above my Disco. Thumbs Up 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
