As per title, need one asap......only had the same one done last year/20,000 miles ago and it is need of replacement again! LR have kindly put the price up double since last year. Best price I can get one is the dealer who has the car presently at £329.

Can't understand why it's gone again, nor can they but either way I need one.

Any help much appreciated.

Yes bish..........12,000 miles or one year whichever soonest. I have done 20,000 and it was a year and one week ago it was replaced.

The's also a company in Speke Liverpool who i can't remember the name of, but when I got my sidesteps they were the cheapest. Both worth a punt?

Will give them a try.....seems to be a distinct shortage on them at the moment, have tried everywhere local including Eurocrparts/Carparts4less, Britcarparts, 2 x LR specialists and a car spares that always comes through but they just don't seem available unless you go main dealer. One place quoted me £399

Strange thing is the other side has been happily spinning around for over 120,000 miles without so much as a whimper?!

If they are properly handed, may be a manufacturing or design fault.

Well bish, the one that was put on last year was a 'genuine' part, as is the one they have quoted me this time, so being as it's a 'no exchange' unit I might ask for the offending/knackered one and send it to LR for them to inspect. It's all a bit strange to be honest.....the car is well cared for and not slaughtered off road etc, something seems to be amiss.

It's only a week over but 8000 miles as it is a 1 yr or 12,000 miles warranty....whichever is soonest so I don't think they'll be overly helpful. I will retain the faulty unit and e mail them to see what they have to say then send it to them if they're at all interested.

I did end up getting a new one sorted just a minute ago for £109 + vat + delivery from driveshaftuk, the guy there was very helpful and needless to say I bit his hand off!

I still don't get how LR can double the price in just a year..........
