Wales 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Baltic Blue
Breakfast TV - news item

... about a bloke in Essex driving a 4x4 into what looks like 6 feet of water, with 3 kids on board. Had to be rescued in the nick of tme by a couple of Essex girls!

He said he was trying to get home before the cops closed the road cos it was flooded! Laughing

All ended well though. he reports the car starts. Was it a Subaru? Or something like that? ...

Be true to yourself. That way happiness lies...

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic Auto Santorini Black

Based on this quote from the bbc site I think he might of been showing off...

Quote:
He said: "My 4x4 is like a monster truck, stands about 7ft (2.2m) high and is fitted with a snorkel exhaust. We'd already driven through some flooding, but as I went into this I thought 'It's deep' so put the car into reverse.

Also I want one of those "Snorkel Exhausts" sounds handy... Freelander 2, 2014 Dynamic SD4 Santorini Black

I saw the news item when it happened. I think he said his vehicle started to float, that's when he lost traction and got stuck. I can't believe some people. I certainly wouldn't have tried it, I value my car too much! Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Sounds a bit like doing 100mph to get home before the fuel runs out to me,

BBC Breakfast news Tuesday

Noticed the weather forecast taking place next to a field of sunflowers earlier in the week. Found out they were just round the corner and had a snap yesterday.

Sunflowers

Thanks for the comments! The most interesting part about the session was driving down a dirt track, turning off a steep drop into the field, the Freelander did an even better job of completing the reverse uphill turn back onto the track afterwards! Glad it was dry!!
I spent 8 years as a professional photographer back in the 80's & 90's and now like to capture interesting images which don't come around too often. I suppose the sunflowers could be anywhere in the world & so I just couldn't miss this opportunity. Thanks BBC Breakfast!!
Oh and 320 (th) sec, now that would be cool!! The wind was blowing the sunflower heads around a bit, so that speed was required to keep them from blurring in the image Whistle

How do you find the 24-70 f2.8 you mention in a few photos? Been thinking about adding one to my collection, either saving for the Nikon, or going the Sigma route Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
