Car completely dead

I don't know if any other members have had this happen .

I drove car onto the drive ,got out to close gates behind , returned to car only to find it had locked itself without folding the mirrors in.
Tried to reopen with remote but the car was completely unresponsive , central locking not working ,lights not blinking.

Had to use key in passenger emergency lock to get in.

Soon as opened door everything sprung to life again,

What causes this?

first port of call would be to check battery levels

or if there was any outside interference, gate/garage door openers etc

I have infra red driveway alarms around my house and if they are tripping, the signal they send to the alarm interferes with my remote and it wont open till they stop

that doesn't explain how it locked itself, how is the keyfob? any worn or dodgy buttons, my old fob used to open all the windows each time i used it Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Have checked battery, alternator all working well.

It happened again this morning , this time wouldn't come back to life when manually unlocked car.

Popped open bonnet , hazard lights flashed (but no sound from alarm) and power restored.

Using spare key now and this time happened in outside car park .

Clock now shows up but has lost 2hrs (have not been time travelling Laughing )

Had rear diff repaired about month ago , had a few issues with haldex sensor but that was corrected .

Could this be problem with on board computer.
