MY13 Bluetooth audio browsing- is it possible

I have synced my iPhone 4S to the car and can play iphone tunes over BT and via USB , however I cannot seem to browse iphone music via BT. It works fine via USB. Each time it seems to select the same track to play and then chooses the same random track list which I keep skipping through via the steering wheel buttons. Anyone know if it can browse over Bluetooth?

Also, is there an extra manual with the car for the audio as the manual refers to standard audio and doesn't go into much detail about the meridian system, eg surround sound etc. LR publicised the change from Alpine to Meridian for the MY13 version but there is very little info in the manual about what I have bought, ie specification, size and type of speakers etc.

Perhaps I haven't looked hard enough for the info ? MY13 FL2 SD4 HSE Ipanema Sand, 19" LR sparkle alloys , spoiler, rear camera , LR det. Towbar

USB Port

I cannot seem to connect my iphone 5 via the USB port.
Like you dmck, i cannot select which tunes the iphone plays over the BT connection.
I tried to connect the iphone using the USB port but it keeps telling me to connect the device.
I thought, possibly like yourself, that using the USB would enable me to select the tracks I want.
Have you got anywhere with this? One Discovery, gone

Not sure if it helps but when connecting an IPod and I assume IPhone via the USB port you need to make sure the My Music selection is changed to IPod rather than USB.

I have the meridian system in mine, everything works well, I can select tracks using the steering wheel with USB or BT. As the Above says you have to select which one from the my music menu.

In the owners manual itself there is a host of info about the portable media. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

The point of my original post was whether you could browse the iphone via Bluetooth. It works fine when I plug in the iphone to usb connection, as I can then get full access to music library. Via BT, the functionality is reduced as the phone seems to play tracks in an order that it has determined. If the music app is open on the iphone and you are listening to an album on the phone prior to you connecting via bluetooth, it will continue to play the remaining tracks of that album, but thereafter it selects random tracks via the button on the wheel and screen, The track names are shown but there is no way to select artist/track etc unless using a cable connection. What I dont understand is how it selects the tracks as it is not a random choice each time you touch the button. If you skip through 5 or six tracks, and then skip back, it is the same track order. MY13 FL2 SD4 HSE Ipanema Sand, 19" LR sparkle alloys , spoiler, rear camera , LR det. Towbar

Yes you can select tracks using the steering while connected to Bluetooth, but only using the artist list on the iPhone rather than an album. For some reason it doesn't have the capability to skip albums, it will skip tracks within them but not whole albums. One thing I haven't tried is storing CDs to the hard drive. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
