I should think you'd get away with that, so long as it doesn't shift too much while you're driving. |

Yep, I just raised the mounting arm and hung the bikes differently. |

I wouldn't be happy with the bikes up there, it's going to affect the handling on corners and your going to have to watch for car park entrance heights |

As bambi68 above says, its just an optical illusion and what little of the wheel you see in the mirrors doesn't really obscure your vision. How wide can a bike be compared to a FL - certainly not as wide as a caravan. I'd be surprised if we use it more than a dozen summer time trips a year of up to a maximum of 5 miles. Normally you'd pedal that distance but the reason I've got the rack is so that now and then me and the wife can get to local country parks/walks/tracks with our dog and our full-size bikes so that the dog can run alongside us as we cycle. Got a couple of fold up bikes with 20" wheels that fit inside the FL that we normally use but they are not really up to some of the tracks we go down. Just an update on this having used it twice so far. Bloody brilliant! Quick and very easy to fit, stores inside with one side of the rear seats down when we go off cycling and a rock solid fit. Only slight drawback is that the rubber feet that press against the rear screen are very close to encroaching into the swept area of the rear wiper so I remove the blade to be on the safe side. I would definitely recommend this carrier for the FL. |
