England 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver
Looking forward to my FL2

Just bitten the bullet and got rid of my 18 month old Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer in favour of a 4 year old Free Lander 2 SE that's got 74k on the clock.

Why - 'cos I hated the Vauxhall!!!

So my first impressions of the FL2 then:

Likes:

Driving position - love it (and so does the wife - well nowadays it takes a lot for her to like a new position)
Looks - it's in Metallic Silver with a sun roof and privacy glass and sidesteps . I think it looks great
Audio system - great sound
Sat Nav - actually don't mind it. Just updated it successfully as well to 2012/13

Dislikes:

Audio system - great sound it might be but I've already found out that Digital doesn't actually mean DAB. Oh and I am one of those unlucky ones who can't get AM either - and I listen religiously to Radio 5
MPG - well don't know yet but I knew what I was taking on. Hoping to get the same as the Insignia though i.e. around 34mpg

My plans are to keep this for quite a while now (I only had the Insignia since last November) and tastefully mod it. Maybe a bit of silver covers for the wing mirrors, door handles etc, Fancy upgrading the lights as well but that depends on budget.

Might also delve into a bit of off roading as well if my bottle holds up.

Now I'm off to stuff some Neil Young, Muse, James and the like into that CD autochanger.

looking forward to reading all your hints, tips, moans and groans as well.

Welcome! Smile

Glad to hear that you are enjoying your FL2. After a few runs the MPG should increase. My SD4 auto is getting around 35mpg at the moment. Mirror covers and coloured door handles make the car look so much better IMO. Thumbs Up

Oh....and you have to post some pictures of the new toy......it's a forum rule. Wink
