Sorry, yes I found one better as you only have one bottle to tow about, but not everywhere stocks it, so end up with two bottles

We tried on of the all for one chemicals of which I can't remember the name of but didn't rate it, it was ok in the Flush Tank but not the waste tank, have since gone back to Thetford Blue in the bottom tank but don't use Thetfod Pink as I've had trouble with algae when using the pink, just using the local dealers own brand on the flush tank now it is seems ok. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

As an engineer who sometimes has to fix these lovely bits of kit, as well as a user myself, I'd say spend as much as you can on the bottom chemicals and as little as you can on the top. I prefer Elsan for the bottom, blue or preferably green these days and own-brand pink top stuff. Thetford blue strikes me as coloured water compared to Elsans offerings. Algae growth in top tank is always a problem, especially since Thetford stopped producing their top tank cleaner. Not sure why but was worth a go once or twice per year. FL2 2007 57 GS

Thanks for replies, it seems the waste needs that little extra that an 'all in one' can't supply. |

I use pink/ blue in different amounts dependant upon frequency of use. We have a Narrowboat which may be used infrequent so I use a good dose of blue to stop the bottom tank contents decomposing and gassing. Compare this to a week away with the van including the family where it fills quickly, here I use an absolute minimum of blue as I don see much use in throwing money away, it only needs to keep a bit of smell down. The boat thetford has freshwater fill so there's no opportunity for pink.
