From £47,500 for a HSE Dynamic, The equivalent hard top coupe would cost you £42,300.

I suppose that the wading depth on a convertible is ultimately set by the height of the doors. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

LR accountants probably think like this: Few owners drive any of their Land Rovers off road (except Defender of course). Lots of folk like convertibles. Evoques sell well. I reckon the new car will be a great success.

I've never understood the attraction of convertibles - cold, draughty, uncomfortable things. Wind in your face, flies in your teeth, and exhaust fumes all around. Give me a nice, air-conditioned tin box any day! Convertible drivers in this country always look rather sad, wrapped up in thick overcoats, scarves and hats just so they can drive their pose-mobiles with the top down. I even saw one up here top down with snow still on the ground! Why?
I used to think that until the DS came along, Now I realise that the Evoque could have looked so much worse! I still wouldn't buy one though - too small and impractical for me. |
