Engine Vibration around 2k

Maybe I'm too fussy but my 2-year old F2 has developed just a slight engine vibration at around 2k revs after trouble-free 25k miles. Definitely the engine and only really noticable when under load. No clutch problems at all.
Any other owner notice similar issue?

Greetings
My 2009 FL2 started vibrating at 1500 rpm's at about 8,000 mls. Land Rover looked at it and said characteristic of vehicle. It is just an awful ride.

Funny you should say that, mine has done precisely this a couple of times this week, I'm up in the highlands and have always used enhanced diesel juice, this week have been filling up at a garage marked 'Gleaner' and at times the engine seems to labour around 2000 with a definite vibration.
Filled with BP Ultimate (£1.54 Shocked ) and today with a 200 mlle round trip up to Shiel Bridge it has been fine Confused

I had been running on supper market diesel and changed to Shell [the stuff that cost more whisky] and it seems to improve somewhat. Also using 2 stroke oil. May be I am just becoming accustomed to the vibration. I have mounted the seats on one inch rubber blocks

I've just had a new belt tensioner fitted that has exactly this problem - well I think it is... As the front is coming off soon for the AC I'm going to check all the plastics are fitted back right as it could be that simple.

Hi ccsnet
I don't think my problem is loose trim or fittings the vibration is to bad for that.

I have it too, & it appears to eminate from the exhaust resonating between 1500 & 2000 rpm, could also be a heat shield vibrating?

I have had a heavy vibration at slow speed for a few weeks now, i had it before but it seemed to go but has recently become much much worse, seems be worse when reversing is involved. LR diagnoised a belt tensioner issue last month but that didnt cure it - phone call to LR assist on Monday me thinks.

I get a vibration at 1,850rpm on my 57 plate 2.2 HSE...

I have always assumed it's an exhaust resonance - it feels like it's coming from under the seats.

LR Assist have been out, took them on a testdrive and they have diagnosed a faulty rear diff Shocked

Technician did say it is very very rare for a rear diff to fail

Hi to all
I have find the samevibration in my car, since it has 25000 miles. Now it is starting to make it when I start the car inthe morning, not continous but the same sound. I´m sure itmust be the belt tensioner. I will change it,and test if sound / vibration goes. My Range Rover does not lose oil, footprint the ground he walks on

Sounds like this is the same problem as what ive had but at lower revs in my case (only on tick over and more so when cold)
As aready been said,In my case it was the belt tensioner.
Removed the belt today and found it was ready for a new one(few cracks)while the belt was off I had a good look at the tensioner and found small build ups of rubber on the tensioner wheel its self that seems to have been causing the tensioner to bounce
(noise and vibration).
Once the debris were removed the noise/vibration was all but sorted.

My tip would be if you go looking for the debris look very close as its not easy to see.
If you keep in mind, black rubber belt spinning with pressure against a black plastic wheel a lot of the time 2/2500 rpm you can imagine what to look for (flat compressed rubber build up that's the same colour as the wheel its self)

Hope this helps

I also get this on my 09 HSE Auto. Seems to be worse when I accelerate and lift off. It comes and goes and seems to originate from the exhaust. I originally thought it maybe temperature related (seems to be worse on cooler mornings) but I'm not so sure now. In truth it is beginning to bug me as my 57 S was more refined to drive than the HSE due to this resonance/vibration! Seems strange that so many people are having the same problem. If anyone gets a definitive diagnosis of the cause could they keep the rest of us updated?

I'm not sure this is the same source of vibration but I could be wrong. Like some of the other posts mine seems to come from underneath the car rather than the front. Is that how it seemed to you before you diagnosed the belt? Also read the previous posts fully-someone had the belt changed and it didn't solve the problem Whistle
