United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame
Condensor Replacment

Been quotes £350 fitted as my condensor has gone hence the AC leak.

Been on the bay and found one for £89 but I know thats only part of the story.

What do you think ?

Just got hit by £700 for the rest of the jobs so looking at doing this cheaper if I can....

This can be done yourself in a day if you swallow some brave pills and go about it methodically, you need to remove the front bumper and radiator air deflectors then disconnect The horn and remove they front crash bar (x8 17mm bolts) start draining the coolant while waiting for it to empty remove the fan looms and inter cooler sensors. Disconnect the two ac pipes the two boost hoses and the two water hoses, if yours is a auto remove the 8mm bolt holding the TOC box to the radiator then remove the upper rad brackets x2 10mm and remove the whole cooling pack split all the rads swap them over and rebuild.
HTH
cheers

I agree technically not difficult, just be methodical, easy done in a day, even with several tea breaks Smile

There are several part numbers for the condenser, just be sure you get the right one. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
