Help - I need a new tail light

Shes only gone and done it again. Another 4x4 another wheelie bin and another tail light wiped out. The Jeep one cost me £100 but was at least very easy to fit.
Any ideas what I'm in for on the Freelander? Any suggestions where I can get one cheaper and how hard are they to fit?
cheers

Thanks - I've dropped him a line.
For comparison I called the local dealer. The price is £91.96 so we'll see what Nick can do. 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

In many ways you should compliment her driving skills, to smash a replaceable light not bend any metal work is an achievement of sorts, Last summer my Dad reversed my pickup into a Tractor Exclamation now that was expensive! At work

It's a two minute job to fit them, Very Happy open the tailgate, undo the two visible bolts that hold the light cluster in and it slides out then just uncouple the wiring connector. I had a leaky one, (replaced under waranty last week) and took mine off twice a week to hairdryer the inside dry Exclamation

Have tried to remove rear light cluster undone screws still seems tight. Does it just pull out or do you have to lift it up or push it sideways? Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto with Winter Pack, Stornaway Grey, Ebony, Grey Mirror Caps. Removable towbar with 13 pin Electrics

Not yet, but if it happens again I'm going to put an inflateable rubber ring round it Razz
I had a look at the weekend. The installation looks pretty much identical to the jeep.

By the way, Nick came up trumps with a very good price. Even with P&P he's still a lot better than the local dealer. Do give the man a try if you need something. I just need to decide whether to fix it as the damage is pretty much invisible unless you look closely. I suspect it will fog up in which case that will be the decision made but as I'm staring down the barreal of a big plumbers bill at the moment I need to save the pennies if I can.
Thanks for all you help though guys. 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

I would say fixit as you would not want the police to maybe notice it later and fine you ore than the price you paid Nick.
I have a friend hoe did the same just waited. One day another guy reported to the police that my friend reversed and damaged his car, which of course was not true. Luckily nothing cme out of it. So unless you have reported it and have proof I'de say fix it. Anyway if Sad worst happens and you get another tail light broken it will definety be the other one. If you fix it t will be the same. Loose-loose situation Thumbs Up FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER
