Look what some T**t left me on Sunday.

Nice Sunday walk out with the family, decided to leave the company car at home as my dad finds the FL2 easier to get in to, wish I had left the FL2 at home now.

Came back to the car and some Censored left me with this and didn't leave any details!

Fortunately it is just the door, so this is being replaced. I appreciate it would have been an accident, but why don't the scumbags just own up to their mistake!

6 years and not a scratch, and now this. At least it will be sorted out properly. Going in next week for surgery! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Sorry to hear about this Mav. Sad You have been very lucky, I've only had my FL2 and I've already been crashed into once and had multiple scratches that I can't keep up with! Banging Head Big Cry

One side of me thinks that it is a shame that the original paint will need to be replaced. But the way paint is applied these days (and being involved with car paint process's through work) I am not worried at all.

Just seen the estimate, and the following is being done :-

Complete new door
New side step, as this was scratched.
New door mouldings on both doors.
All new door rubbers (seals etc) for both doors and the drivers door will be stripped and blended.
New rear quarter glass, as they are blending the rear 1/4 and I won't accept any masking.

So nothing is being taken to chance. The insurance engineer took one look at the car and said, we can't afford to cut any corners with this job. It has to be right.

So apart from the 」350 excess and additional 」200 non approved repairer excess which of course I am delighted about, I am quite comfortable with the fact she will be as good as new. There was no way she would go to their butcher approved repair centre.

We will benefit as well as there was a few stone chips on the rear door wheel arch. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Mav

Gutted for you dude...I know EXACTLY how it feels owing to recent experience. Looks like a 4x4/Van judging by the main dent(s)....probably company owned, and as we all know, they only employ muppets with no conscience on minimum wage to drive, so no chance of recourse.

Glad you got it sorted on insurance, look at it as a mini-detail in retrospect...it's about the only positive that you can take from it all.

All the best... Foraging near Gaydon....

Bad luck Mav. That's a real sickener.

I remember many years ago coming back to my Ford Cortina and a crumple in a place that wasn't crumpled before and a folded note under the windscreen wiper.

'At least they've left contact details', I thought.

'Hard cheese', read the note. Or less polite words to that effect.

Eventually I saw the funny side.

Cheers bud. It took me a few days to calm down. But now I am of the opinion that as long as she is put right, worse things happen to others.

I would be worse if it had been damaged on the quarter panel etc. At least a door is a bolt on panel. So nothing structural. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
