Just put the latest edition in the recycling bin.

Can't remember seeing anything about the FL2 in it. Rolling Eyes 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

I could easily do the job of putting together your typical owner's magazine.

Adverts for Rolex and Patek Philippe watches, an article about the latest carbon fibre catamaran, pics of the most expensive model in the range with night time Geneva in the background, etc. etc. Dull, dull, dull!

I have owned Jags and Mercs in the past and their mags are just as bad.

Maybe they should get Jeremy Clarkson to do it. Mind you, all he would do is tell you your car is crap unless it costs £250k or more. Rolling Eyes 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech

Unless you own a Defender then these magazines are pretty much useless to us. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

"Unless you own a Defender then these magazines are pretty much useless to us."

I don't quite agree with that; I think it's more a bias towards the "proper" offroaders with low ratio boxes and far less electronic control in offroad situations. I must admit that I can see their point, as I was personally quite disappointed by my offroad driving experience in the Freelander. I appreciate that it is a supremely comfortable and very capable car on tarmac or rough stuff and I do enjoy driving it BUT I feel that the electronic aids take most of the "driver input" excitement and sense of achievement out of the difficult offroad situations. I suppose it's similar to the manual or automatic gearbox argument, although I'm firmly in the auto camp there.

My admittedly limited offroad experience was previously with Pajero/Shoguns - old fashioned cars where you needed to know how to use the low range gears and manually controlled brakes whenever things got tight and gnarly. The Freelander would go almost anywhere the Pajero would and far more easily for the driver but it is the car's systems that are doing all the work - even to the extent that you can descend a steep hill in neutral with the HDC in command. That does seem like cheating Whistle

I think the magazines are catering more for those who enjoy the old-fashioned way of doing things - and you don't see many Freelanders in trials or on the Dakar rally! Personally I rather liked this month's LRM. I don't often buy it but was tempted by the free booklet on the old Series cars. Great machines with real character. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

LRO is the one I get, on the odd occasion there is a bit about Freelanders, Range Rovers and Discos. Although its a Freelander it still has Land Rover on the bonnet, I'm of the opinion that if it has a title 'Land Rover Owner' they should cater for all Land Rover owners.

The Freelander is a highly capable car, can do more than what some of these magazines give it credit for. There are a lot of greenlanes out there that the Freelander excels on but are very rarely featured.

I still buy these magazines because I like the Defender and the old series LRs, but I would like to see features on my specific model and places where I can take it safely. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

50% of most mags are adverts that are exactly the same month after month and theres only usually 2 pages that you find of interest on any other topic.
Of course you could always stand in WH Smiths for an hour with all the other folk, and read it all then put it back and walk out. Rolling Eyes
Quite who is going to buy that mag anyway when half the town has thumbed through it is another thing.

I don't think we are talking about the same magazines here. I am talking about the one which Land Rover send to you in the post not the ones which you buy in the shops. Is it called One Life or something like that? 2013 RR Evoque Pure Tech
