2014 holiday now booked

At long last, my big adventure holiday has been booked for next year. Fly out 29th August from Heathrow in premium economy with Virgin Atlantic direct to Los Angeles. We also cover San Franciso and Las Vegas with other places such as Grand Canyon thrown in. Full itinerary here: http://www.archersdirect.co.uk/holiday/wes...o-3-nights

Just got to ask Santa for one of these now: http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/13356103/a...rcid=11270

Sounds brilliant. Thumbs Up

I'm hoping to do a similar trip next year, depending when I can get some time off work.

Great holiday, something I would love to do.
Well all Except for I will never fly Virgin Atlantic again. Appalling customer service once they have your money.
My only saving grace is the fact I have since flown numerous international flights (incl. bus class) and Virgin have lost out every time.

That said, I am confident you will have a fantastic time - very jealous Thumbs Up (Coming) 2016 RR Evoque td4 180 HSE Dynamc

Interesting flylr. I last flew with Virgin when we went to New York in 2006 and I thought they were great and had the edge over BA who we flew to Houston with in 2008.

My sister flew with Virgin last year to Canada and again couldn't fault them. Oh well, guess I'll find out in due course... LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Cheers WizzardPrang Thumbs Up

I will do New York again one day because I really enjoyed it. We were there in March and saw the St Patrick's Day parade. Next time it will be part of an East Coast tour taking in Boston and Washington DC I think.

I would also like to do Chicago and the deep south too. Love the States. Yet Canada is a target for me too.

Must work hard to achieve my current goal of becoming a solicitor, get some wealthy clients to hand over large amounts of money for my skills and the world is my oyster Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Been to SF and Alcatraz, also done Yosemite as we stayed in Fishermans Wharf. You will love it . Do take a good UV filter you will need it. I could put up some videos and pictures but that would ruin the pleasure of discovering for yourself.

I had a very good flight over to Orlando with them - no complaints.
Trip back was a disaster - crew terrible, plane dirty, food inedible and they messed up all the seat bookings/allocation. These things happen some times, maybe last minute plane swap etc - fair enough, but its how they make things right which counts and their customer service was shocking - including the manager I had contact with. I guess the true measure of any organisation is how they perform when things go wrong - and they failed badly so have lost my (very lucrative) custom.

Many people as you have mentioned have had a good experience so I guess me and my fellow passengers were just unlucky this time round. At the end of the day, it is only a flight. It's the holiday that counts and it looks like you have a cracker lined up. (Coming) 2016 RR Evoque td4 180 HSE Dynamc

Forgot to mention the great deal we got on the flights from Archers. Basically they were offering a deal to the first 100 customers to book the 2014 tour package, so instead of paying £700 each to upgrade to premium economy for outbound and return, we paid £100 each. Very Happy Thumbs Up

Booked a short break to New York with SWMBO in October. I'm really looking forward to it as I've never been there before. I might even be able to upgrade to business class depending how many air miles I have, (flying with British Airways).

Many thanks Doc. I will have a look tomorrow when I'm not on my iPad as for some reason it won't let me view it.

Sadly I forgot to tick the other display options when I uploaded it so it only plays on laptops and desktop computers. When you have seen it, let me know what you think. Back then I had a basic canon camera with just 3 mega pixel res but still got some great shots. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
