Odd noise

I've had this since I picked up the car from new, and after 3000 miles its getting really rather annoying. I'm hearing a tone or note amongst the road noise, which doesn't change with speed, and seems to be louder under braking. Difficult to find the source, seems to be from the middle of the car. I put it down to road noise at first, but I've never had that single tone sound (a bit like blowing over the top of a bottle) in any other car, including my last FL2. Any ideas? Its an SD4 on 19" wheels. Fuji White MY13 SD4 Dynamic

I remember when I first bought mine, I continually thought I had the sunroof slightly ajar.. Because of a similar sounding noise. I sat in the passenger seat and the noise came from the right... Drivers seat it came from the left. Could be something similar?

Not coming from around the gear lever is it? as if the sound insulation under the gaiter is displaced?
