New member freelander 2 help

Hi new to this forum does anyoneknow of any common faults for a freelander 2 2.2 diesel td4 07 plate or any thing i sould know as I'm thinking of buying one second hand it's done 88000 miles. Just because I've heard stories about land rover and its made me unsure, any help would be much appreciated cheers

I had the same comments from people when I said I was buying a freely, and I'm glad I took no notice
Can't fault mine Deaon77
I did have one issue and that was with the key fobs - dealer replaced them with 2 new ones Thumbs Up

Best thing to do is have a good search on the site in all the topics and see what you come up with

England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

Recall for sunroof and auxiliary heater.
Some reports of problems with rear diff/Haldex unit, clutches in manual, and auto gearboxes.
But given number sold versus reported problems you'd probably be unlucky to find one with problems that haven't been sorted. Know of numerous 150000 mile plus Freelander 2's still on original clutches, brakes, gearboxes.
It's probably LR's most reliable model in recent times.
Yes there are bad ones, mostly reported at length on here but also far more good ones that no one ever hears about

I've had mine since July, 2011 SD4 HSE, and its been flawless. I've had nothing go wrong, except for someone crashing into the side of me. Rolling Eyes

They are great cars, and you will hear some horror stories, but there are always a minority of each model that do go wrong. I'd go for it, you won't be disappointed. Thumbs Up

This is my third Fl2 and can honestly say they have all been bomb proof. The Fl2 is the most reliable Land Rover at the moment. If the one your looking at has been properly looked after there should be a few more miles left in the old dog yet Thumbs Up 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Wasn't there a few early ones that had a steering rack issue? That and the rear diff whine come to mind. Both of those issues should have been dealt with under warranty. You could probably check with LR if the warranty work was done on that car. Having said that, mine's been very reliable even with the very hard life I have given it.

What car doesn't have issues Question Look up any car on the net and its going to have some kind of issues
My last car was a Jeep and it was a complete pain in the Censored Big Cry

Get someone to give yours a good look over before you buy - had 2 independent land rover garages give mine a good go over before I bought it Wink BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders

Would anyone be worried about buying one with 88000 miles on it, would there be anything I'd need to know.

You could take out a warranty, assuming it dosn't come with one.
