So angry, children of today...

Last week (after a particularly horrible day at work), I was driving home through the outskirts of a local town. As I was toddling along minding my own business, I saw a child to my left wobbling about on an over-sized old fashioned bicycle. He looked like he was about to fall off into the road so I slowed down.... he did not slow down but instead picked up a rock and hurled it at my car!
The noise of rock contacting car was very loud! i stopped and the little tip rat scuttled off into the housing estate behind him.
I pulled over; in shock and disbelief- I deliberately slowed down so as not to endanger him and he vandalizes my car. Big Cry
I was so angry, phoned the non-emergency police number and they came straight out. The PCs were lovely, took all details and said it was unlikely that they would catch the little Censored
Lloyd now has a pin dent with paint loss on the near side rear door.
So my quest now is to get an in-car camera. I've had enough!!!! I spend at least 2 hours a day on the roads and the number of incidents of near misses/bad driving seems to be on the increase. The next problem I have is deciding which one!!!

the sad thing is that there is nothing the Police or anyone can do anyway.

these kids know they are untouchable and basically don't give a toss.

Censored scum

Check out Disco3 couple of group buys for Blackvue on there at the moment

Unfortunately you will only film the scum doing it as the police might still not be able to ID them

Not so long ago a group of youngster got asked to leave some land a chap was shooting on, he returned to his car to find his screen smashed, his incar camera caught the little Censored Clear as day throwing a rock at it, police never found him, you would have thought they would have shown the footage to the to the local schools to see if they could help but they wouldn't Rolling Eyes Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Check out miwitness serious bit of kit. HD quality and very discreet and small.
I have had road hawks for 5 years but have to admit the MI witness is the next generation in incar cameras.

We had a vandal attack our car outside a pub and he was caught on camera and prosecuted with the camera footage.

£249.99. Expensive but you get what you pay for and we have had successful prosecution

corrected the link ! its an age think & large fingers Thumbs Up

I've just spent the last few days researching the dash cam products available, from reading forums, reviews and posts the following websites were recommended, yes there are £150-£350 cameras about (roadhawk, blackvue, miwitness) but....horses for courses and the gizpro videos are certainly food for thought.

http://www.gizpro.co.uk/in-car-camera.html

http://www.carcamwarehouse.com/index.html

Basically, being tighter than a camels back passage in a sandstorm I've decided to wing it on one of these,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370823357211 - along with an 8gb SD for £6 from my memory. So for a few nuggets under £25 I'm sorted. The videos I've found on YouTube are more than adequate and actually incredibly clear. It was dispatched this morning and I aim to do a full review for you lot.

Hope this helps, 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

Little rats, I've never had it happen to the car but have had it happen whilst driving my bus through the town. Just recently I had a top deck window smashed by an 8 year old, nothing the police can do and the parents weren't interested. Come Halloween its pumpkins we get thrown at our windscreens. One stage the night buses were withdrawn from one part of the town due to being shot at with air rifles Shocked 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Things have calmed down over the last few years, that generation has now grown up. Other than the odd thing thrown at the bus it's relatively quiet. Most of the problems are caused by bored teenagers hanging around street corners. Driving a bus at night just seems to attract the numpties. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Glad I'm out of that - driving the last bus back from Manchester to Macclesfield used to be somewhat wild! Things are a lot calmer down here Thumbs Up Mind you, one of our local bus companies has just had most of its fleet torched whilst in the garage Evil or Very Mad Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

A good few years back I had a BRICK lobbed at me as I was riding my motorbike Shocked

Well he just missed me, and after a millisecond I spun around a gave chase on the bike eventually catching the little sh**e after off roading up a large grass bank. Pinned him down, gave him a rollocking and threatened him with finding his mother and telling all.

Lucky escape on two counts. First the brick and then these days I would probably have been charged with assault.....

Sign of the times really, but I'd do it again and get locked up anytime.

That's a great response to vandalism! Trouble with these PC days is that none of the little sh£$s are frightened of any retribution for their actions. I'm sure that the main reason we were so much safer in the 50s is that folk really were scared of the consequences of doing wrong - from a smack for naughtiness to the rope for murder. Shame that's all gone now. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

Jimski, I shall watch your thread closely, let us know when you find a good product. In the meantime I might head over for a peak at Disco3.
