Just returned from a pleasent week in West Wales and thought I would report on the good and bad behaviour of my FL2.

Firstly on returning home I had clocked up a total of 550 miles and my AVERAGE mpg was 36mpg! Thats with 2 journeys through the mountains amongst the short jaunts to the beach etc so well pleased with that!

On the bad side on my way there as I was going though the mountains I heard the dreaded double beep and a message appear on the display 'Transmission Fault - traction reduced' I had no mobile signal where I was so chose to carry on and i didnt notice any difference in the characteristics of driving. Got to where we were staying and was fine for a day or so then midweek I got the message again and again and again - strangely not until I had covered 40 miles on one journey yet just 5 on another so wonder if it is a sensor fault - again at no time did my FL2 feel any different. I am speaking to my local dealer now to get them to have a look but anyone else had similar issues or know what the cause might be (dealer fitted new Haldex unit 2 months ago could that be to blame?)

The only other issue was the stupid satnav taking me down a lane that was so narrow the hedges were scraping both sides of my car, I couldnt find anywhere to turn around for half a mile, on turning round i quickly headed back for the main road fearful of something else coming the other way - ended up whacking a rock and putting a massive scrape on one of my alloys which was a real downer!!! espacially as it was the alloy spare that i had put on just 1 week before !!

Other than that the Fl2 performed well - just interested to know what the delar thinks of the fault! Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

Sorry to hear of your problems. I know what it feels to have the wheels scraped, SWMBO had an argument with the curb and damaged the drivers side wheel. She won't be driving my car again!

I'd be interested to hear what the dealer says about the fault.

I had same message and symptoms last year and it turned out to be the sensor in the Haldex. No noticeable difference when driving but reduced traction warning. LR assist came out and did an update that made no difference, arranged replacement Evoque hire car and I drove my LR to the dealership. Replaced sensor under warranty and no repeat problem. Hope yours is a simple fix. _________________
