Been offered some brand new Michelin tyres (235/65/17) at a bargain price however when checking they are listed as BMW X5, will this affect their use on a FL2? They are not run flats as far as I am aware? Price is simply too good to pass over! eh tu?

Tyres are rarely vehicle specific, size is Ok, is there a name on the tyre, more info is needed really to make an informed comment

Speed and load index are important figures, lots of info on here about those figures.
If its a Primacy MXV4 it's not rated high enough for a Freelander, the load index is too low so check carefully but fingers crossed they are OK, it's good to get a bargain now and then

There was a debate some where on here about the H ratings on tyres for FL2, something to do with insurance I think. The handbook says to use V ratings. I put H rated General Grabbers on mine, I informed my insurance company who wasn't really bothered as long as I hadn't changed the wheel size.

Maybe, if only for peace of mind, it might be better to inform your insurance company about the change of speed ratings. Like I say my insurance (L+V) wasn't bothered but others might say its some kind of mod if ever you need to claim? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
