2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black
sprint booster for land rover

I know you guys have mentioned about poor throttle response when pulling out on junctions etc, just wondered if anyone has tried this product for electronic throttle bodies, seems to be very popular

Sounds like it is the same as putting our cars into 'Sand Mode', which is a remap change to the throttle response.

As long as your clutch and flywheel are still up to the job with the extra torque at lower revs etc, why not?

From what I have read would really not bother. It increases the amount of throttle applied relative to the position, so say an original setup is 20% at 20% depression this could be 30% at 20%. Makes driving gently a bit challenging.

If you want improved performance get a remap from a specialist if you aren't looking for extra power just responsiveness a good tuner could set this up for you.

If you're thinking of a remap and your Freelander is still under warranty you might wish to look at the following message posted on www.babyrr.com. by XFullFatTim.

Hello,

Thanks for the message.

I can confirm that Land Rover do not approve any form of engine modification. If this is done then as you rightly said it would invalidate the engine warranty and any other part of the manufactures warranty that it may directly affect.

Our dealerships are allowed to sell these types of modifications but before doing so they need to be making it perfectly clear that this will invalidate the relevant parts of the warranty.

Hope this clarifies the matter for you.

Many Thanks

(Yesterday 05:23am)XFullFatTim Wrote: Liam there are several posts and thread on the forum regarding owners purchasing or being offered engine power upgrades by 3rd party "tuners" and even by dealership sales persons.

Could you please set out once and for all the Land Rover policy on these upgrades.
My experience from all the other forums I participate in is that there is no such thing as a Land Rover power upgrade for any of the engines offered and that fitting any form of "chip" or ECU remap immediately invalidates any LR Engine warranty. It appears from some posts that Dealerships might be offering customers power upgrades which is something I believe LR takes very seriously and do not approve of.
