Metal door sills

Hi all,

I've been thinking about getting some door sill plates, but I thought that the LR ones were too expensive.

What do you guys think about these?

Frankly, that's a bit of a pi$$ take for a knock off copy from China...genuine LR ones aren't that much more from Dan at Duckworths. If they were circa 」50 I'd say take a chance, but at nigh on a ton, I'd personally pay the extra and get genuine warranted LR ones - don't forget that they take a lot of stick getting in and out of the vehicle, and who knows how quickly they might corrode due to inadequate finishing?

Your call at the end of the day... I know where my money is though! Foraging near Gaydon....

@FL2Voodoo I am thinking about adding these sill protectors and some mud flaps. Are the sill protectors pressed/stamped with the LR logo? Any chance of a close up picture?

Thanks FL2Voodoo. Smile I will look into those.

Edamball, if you are looking for mudflaps, get them from powerful uk. They are only 」45 and look like LR ones. Mine are on order and I will post some pics when they are fitted. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the heads up Chris. Look forward to seeing them fitted - assuming you have enough fingers to operate the camera, that guy in the Powerful UK video is a bit lethal with that Stanley knife!

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black

@fl2voodo they are exactly the same as the ones chris found on ebay for 30 pounds cheaper lol

The description says : Enhance your Freelander 2 by fitting these stainless steel sill covers. This kit fits directly on top of the existing dull grey/black plastic and is the same thickness and dimensions as the original Genuine Land Rover item which retails at over ᆪ220. This comes with pre-fitted automotive grade self adhesive tape. Although this is not a genuine Land Rover item rest assure of the quality stainless steel finish. When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Looks like its decided then Thumbs Up
I still feel its a lot of dosh to pay out for something you can see unless your getting in and out of the doors Confused Its not to bad if its a present from someone like FL2Voodoo received, then yeah ill be chuffed and over the moon.. would you not rather get your Body side mouldings Chris to protect it from the car park miss apps Very Happy

Going a bit off topic.. i saw a stornoway Grey freely on a roundabout today with the chrome side tubes.. my head nearly spun right round trying to get a good look.... i think I'm preferring them to the steps?? anyone fitted the tubes and regretted it for one reason or another
I just feel the steps stick out to much, look good on the RRS as there not out as much

I like them, but I'm still in two minds about getting them. Don't worry, I'm still getting the body side mouldings. Thumbs Up

I'm not too sure about the protection tubes, but I don't like the side steps either. Laughing

I wasn't to keen on the tubes neither Chris but the freely i saw today on the roundabout (only from the back and side) was the double of mine and it looked nice with the tubes.. what i liked about em was they never stuck out and was tucked away Very Happy

Ill have to do a few renderings with em on mine.. just hope they come out a better then the wheel attempt Laughing BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders
