United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Orkney Grey
Question from The Woodcompany

Returning to the fold, after 10 months (in a bmw) really missed my FL2 TD4 S Auto.
So i`ve just purchased a 2013 SD4 GS Auto,which I collect saturday.
I`ve ordered an aftermarket armrest from The Woodcompany in Italy, they`ve just e-mailed me asking for my NI number, anyone know why they should want this, as i`m a bit unsure about divulging this info.

Quote from The Woodcompany:
Due to the new EU 2013 disposal, it is necessary to indicate in the invoice a univocal number that identify the customer.
Please be so kind to let us know your NIN code (national insurance number.

Hi Alan,

we need your NIN because due to the new EU 2013 disposal, it is necessary to indicate in the invoice a univocal number that identify the customer.

Kind regards.

Yeah, it's no problem to give that number. Anyway it's a public one, at least in Romania.
It is composed from various digits, representing sex, date of birth, place of birth, checksum, etc.
All these need to be put in the invoice according to EU laws.

Perhaps the EU is checking to see if you can afford to run a Land Rover?? Rolling with laughter seriously sounds an odd question for them to ask? Maybe its VAT related as the product is being exported? I thought you could just pay through PayPal with out supplying many other details? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Doesn't sound right to me either.

Give them your number but "accidentally" type a digit in wrong.

I doubt they can check the verication anyway.

Ordered this morning online, paid by paypal, order confirmed, payment accepted, then an e-mail asking for NIN.

Just tried the suggestion by AiiEEX but had no response yet.

Thanks 3lander for the LR Center Liverpool link, wish I`d seen that earlier.

How do you secure it to the console? I've been looking at these myself, but concerned about the need to have to drill holes etc. Joanne
