Wipers not as good since new windscreen fitted

Hi all,

The windscreen wipers on my 2011 HSE aren't wiping as well as they were before I had a new windscreen fitted. I've noticed that in one corner of the screen, the wiper misses a small section. Should I get new wiperblades? Or just leave them?

Many thanks,

Chris

Unnecessary quote removed

new screen new blades,as the blades contour to the screen
ie bed in ,old blades will have memory of the old screen , mho use only lr blades as others can sometimes not work as well,
is it a genuine lr replacement or glass company special own brand 1 ,
had a friend recently went through 3 different windscreens not a landrover I hasten to add , as they were in-house brand and were optically weird looked like you were tripping when driving down the road at night ..

You always need to insist they fit a genuine vehicle makers part, often the screen fitters will fit one of their own branded parts, as they must be cheaper but they still charge the full price, crafty like, I had one of these fitted and it had like a water mark in the inner laminate which showed up in bright sunlight, ended up having a proper one fitted, so double the hassle.
A friend had 2 heated screens fitted that didnt work one side, and same again, had to fit a genuine part to cure the problem.

Thanks for your replies. My screen isn't an LR screen, but it seems to be ok. When winter comes I will test out the heated screen, hopefully it will work!

Would Valeo or Bosch front wipers be ok? I don't know what brand the fronts ones are. Only that the rear one is a Valeo wiper.

Thanks for the link Slaneydore, but MY11 rear wipers are different to older models. And I think it looks fine. Thumbs Up

Here's a pic of my rear wiper;

For what ts worth, I recently replaced my front wipers with the valeo ones and very happy.

Coming back from Cornwall the other week I literally could hardly see out from all the muck that had accumulated. The wipers and wash did nowt! So as well as replacing the wipers I polished and put a protectant on the glass, and 'upgraded' screen wash. Now I have crystal clear viewing Very Happy FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

Often find I need new wipers after a screen replacement, they must wear to the slight imperfections in the screen and them smear away till I replace them

Normally just used LR own wipers myself Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks for the advice guys! Bow down

Which ones should I buy? I've heard that the Bosch ones are good.

i got these Valeo ones
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silencio-VM399-Fla...B004P1IJ3A

After browsing through some of the older posts on here, in my limited search more people seemed to favour the Valeo than the Bosch ones.

I read somewhere on here that these are exactly the same as the official land rover ones (?) FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

Thanks for that. I might get those ones then, as the rear wiper on mine is also Valeo. I'm guessing yours is too? Probably is seeing as yours is an MY11. Thumbs Up

[quote="chrisr1806"]Thanks for your replies. My screen isn't an LR screen, but it seems to be ok. When winter comes I will test out the heated screen, hopefully it will work!

Test the electric screen heater now by using an eclectic kettle and letting the screen steam up.
You may have a problem getting the screen changed again if you leave it to October/November time.
