Jacking The Car With Side Steps

Does the fitting of sidesteps hinder the use of the standard car jack for wheel changing.

Can the sill jacking points still be accessed?

Thanks,

Chris

I have a copy of the official LR instructions for fitting sidesteps and it quite specifically shows that you MUST undo and remove the sidestep before using the manufacturers jack.
Has LR got it right or wrong?

Well, in a way, Land Rover are both right and wrong.....I've had punctures on two occasions, the first time I followed the instructions and removed the step. Not a big job, but you wouldn't want to do it in the dark and pouring rain. The second puncture, it was dark and raining and I found that if I kept the winding handle nearly parallel with the ground the jack worked without removing the step; not as easy as without the step, but better than removing the step if you follow my meaning!
