Hi Jules,
Something for you to consider.
If you have a high power device on the rear accessory socket and another on the new socket you installed with the connection from FA6 out, you may overload the FA6 circuit and blow the fuse. Also remember that FA5 - FA8 also has the heated rear screen. That's quite a lot of power you could potentially be drawing from that feeder.
However, if you are only using one socket at a time, not a problem. Out with the old (2007 SE)
In with the new (2012 Dynamic with everything). Now also gone.

I dont intend to run anything heavy from it. Just a 12v inspection light that I hang on the boot door to provide lighting for me to change out of scuba gear after a night dive, plus a charger for my drill batteries.

I was really surprised when LR failed to include a boot 12v power supply for the F2.
My last disco had one and also the last F1 we had. In fact my new Skoda Octavia VRS Estate has one.

Wildrover, I saw your post and thought `nice easy job, i'll give it a go` so purchased the socket outlet, wires hole cutter etc.. but when i lifted boot panel i noticed that a 3rd of my fuse box isn't there (It's a GS model) so i only have the two fuse blocks that sit within the wide portion of the boot mounted fuse box ~ any idea as to what would be my best bet to connect to given my limited choice  GS with the Leather Pack ~ Zermatt Silver

I checked the handbook to find out what each circuit was supplying then connected to a circuit that was, in my opinion, least important. Connecting the supply was the most time-consuming part of the job. Out with the old (2007 SE)

Wildrover, In the end i managed to find a suitable supply and it all works and even looks neat too. For me getting on the 10mm bolts that actually hold the fusebox in place was probably the most time consuming part. ~ Not the 5 minute job i thought it would be though!  GS with the Leather Pack ~ Zermatt Silver
