Caravan Tugs

Sparked off by the Frequency of Freelanders thread, what's the most popular caravan tower in your area? Down here, where we do of course get lots of 'vans (after all, it's about as far away from CG as you can get in England Twisted Evil ) Shogun/Pajero seem to be the most frequent. We were part of this majority before the cost of travel here from Cheshire with a 'van attached to our old 2.8 Pajero became prohibitive - it only did 15mpg with the 'van behind.

I still hanker after a Shogun whenever I see one - that or the Range Rover Vogue could easily tempt me away from Freelanders if money weren't so tight. Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

Mine - 2014 Vespa GTS 300 Super Sport Matt Black
Ours - 2007 White Bailey Pageant Champagne

I often reflect that I should have hung on to my old shape V6 3 litre petrol Shogun with I had converted to LPG.
It had more torque and BHP that the FL2 and returned 18 mpg on both petrol and gas which is of course only just over half the price of petrol so would actually be on a par with the FL2 on running costs.

It was a great towing car and if you knew what you were doing using the low ratio box was more capable off road.

And it was proper off-roading rather than electronic off-roading (excellent though that is, of course) Whistle Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto

In my travels I see a lot of Sorrentos/Sportages/Santa Fe's (they all look the same to me - boring). They seem to be popular among the retired CC members Rolling Eyes . Although I am in the same bracket, I prefer my LR2 - it looks like a "proper" 4x4 Wink 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Went down that route for six years, when you get into a FL2 you realise how naf they are and you don't save any money cos they really don't last. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Dartman.

I first read your reply in isolation by email. I thought: "why does he think the FL2 is naff". Only when I read on the forum I realised you were talking about Kias & Hyundai's. Laughing 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)
