Scotland 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Fuji White

Hi Badger,
You are correct, spoke to Duckworths this afternoon - it is a postal service problem! Duckworths even offered to send another set out today. Told them I shall be patient and wait for the post tomorrow. Cannot fault them really, so stand corrected and indeed would not hesitate to use them again. Bow down Embarassed
Regards the sidesteps, managed to fit drivers side today and it looks good. Checked against my wife's Golf and it will stop the Golf door hitting the Freelander door, so well worth the effort. Moreso when the door protectors are fitted.
For anyone fitting the sidesteps, I found I had to re-drill the holes as the rivit nuts would not go into the holes, and bashing them with a hammer would without doubt just damage the floor pan with no guarantee of the rivit nuts going in. When the car goes in hopefully tomorrow to have the strips fitted, I shall ask them to spot/or tack weld the rivet nuts to the floor pan. Would do it myself however, my mig welder is unaccessible behind my Stag that is on axel stands with the whole of the front suspension removed.
When I consider everything, the dealer wanted 」800 to supply and fit the sidesteps. Bought mine on eBay for a smidge over 」300 therefore, getting the door strips 」120, painted in Fuji White and fitted (」200) so still better to the tune of 」180. So happy as Larry Thumbs Up 'There is thunder' then 'There is the warble of a V8'

Hi,
Yeah, I used some Zinc primer. But intend to get e rivets mig welded tomorrow so will have to do it again. Also plan on filling the sill cavity with some quality rust inhibitor followed with a layer of sprayed underseal.
Must say I am not a fan of the three bolts that secure the actual step to the brackets! It would take all of a couple of minutes for someone to remove them, so will deal with this very soon. 'There is thunder' then 'There is the warble of a V8'

Glad it's getting sorted...it'll all be worth it in the end. Look in my Gallery and you'll be able to see the finished article (albeit in Black)....not a mark in 6 months/10,000 miles.

If you think it's a ball ache adding the steps, don't even attempt to fit Mudflaps without watching the official tutorial on either here or YouTube. Good luck, and pics when it's completed please Thumbs Up Foraging near Gaydon....

Yes Chris you are correct, about time I showed the evidence.

I have several pictures on my iPhone - but as I understand it is not so easy to submit from iPhone, will see about transferring to a computer to do this.

They did a good Job IMO Thumbs Up

Hi Chris,
Just spent an hour trying to get my iPhone to upload images - did not work, however, did manage to create an album with the iPad and upload an image of James Bond shadow so it must be something I have done wrong on the phone.

If weather is good tomorrow I shall take some pics wi iPad and upload them

Kind regards,

Hi Pablo,

Sorry to hear that you had a few problems with uploading the pictures. I find it difficult to upload pictures into a thread on my iPad, that's when Flickr comes in handy. No rush with the photos, and if you need some help I will try to help you, or you can PM Taz or Npinks. Taz helped me when I had trouble with uploading an avatar, he was very helpful and he was willing to help.

Chris
