United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Aintree Green

Well Tazzie this is for business journeys...the FL2 is used by the other arf and for holidays/long journeys. EU claptrap has forced the UK into low CO2 cars..and LR are not in that market..it will hit them at some point soon though.

Our fleet policy at work is less than 120CO2 and as I partake in the luxury of autos that makes it quite a limited range. If LR had a vehicle in that area then that would be the preference.

Options I'm considering
Merc A class
Auris hybrid
VW Golf
Skoda Octavia
Volvo V60
Renault Megane
Peugeot 3008 hybrid 4x4

I pay £80 per month for my lease and pay BIK tax of about £90 per month and for that I get a new car for 3 years fully insured, maintained, taxed......I can't buy/run one for that.

Merc A Class is great looking car, always had, still have, a soft spot for the three pointed star.
Octavia, had one of those, excellent, never missed a beat and great service from dealers.
Volvo V60 worth a look, Volvo have some big cars with little frugal engines but they must be OK as I dont hear any complaints.

Golf, too common
Peugeot and Renault no experience of but lots of family anecdotal evidence to steer clear so never on my radar.
Toyota Auris, hybrid means it may future proof against tax bands changing, fuel supply problems etc.

Tough choice but Merc would be my #1 if the spec is OK Thumbs Up

England 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Santorini Black

My mum had a 1996 Peugeot 306. It was a brilliant car, it covered 45,000 miles after 6 years and we never had any problems with it. I haven't driven a new Peugeot, but SWMBO has looked at a new 208 to replace her 5 year old Audi A3 2.0TDI. I'd happily get one, but she hasn't decided yet. I couldn't even persuade her to get a Ford Fiesta! Rolling Eyes
