Freelander Man

That's interesting thanks piattj. Its quite a perceptive description in the article by sluggerotoole. Mondeo Man has become a bit extinct nowadays. Do many Mondeos actually get bought by private individuals? - I think they are more rep mobiles than anything else. They may sell a few but it is such a bland car that it is hard to recognise on the road. A Freelander 2 however is noticeable and distinct - bought mostly by private individuals with their own money -individuals with class and savy Very Happy So Freelander Man may well hold the key to electoral success or failure. Not posh Full Fat RR motorists or earthy Defender types - just the common man (or woman) who used to travel on a Clapham Omnibus but now drives a FL2..... We are the people!

I think there are three main issues that all the parties are getting wrong, resulting in the spectacular rise of UKIP.

1. The EU. Most of us see that membership of this corrupt club is costing us a lot of money and providing nothing in return. The rules relating to farming and, particularly fishing, are so spectacularly anti-British interests that even without the "Human Rights" debacle they would make withdrawal positively beneficial. Our trading future is with the developing world, not the bankrupt Europe.
2. Grammar schools. "Comprehensive education" - surely a contradiction in terms - was the biggest social disaster ever in this country, even discounting its educational stupidity. The only chance lower class children ever had was when upward educational mobility depended on your own ability rather than your parent's address or income. No wonder none of our political elite have ever dared to bring them back - the current mess favours the ruling class so they will carry on with it.
3. Immigration. We now live in a multi-cultural, increasingly racially segregated society with ghettos and no-go areas that are getting worse. It's probably impossible to reverse this but none of the major parties seem able to do anything about making sure things don't get worse - Labour positively encourage the problem.

All that is more than enough but the economy is going down the pan as well. No wonder so many people say "Let's have a change". Ours - 2008 Stornoway Grey HSE Auto
Tricia's - 2006 Royal Blue Beetle Cabriolet Auto
