Anyone doing lots of short trips?

As title really...do you have a dpf equipped FL2 Sept 2010 (onwards?)...do you do lots of short journeys each day??....how are you getting on with the dpf

Reason is our 2010 non dpf is due replacement but bulk of the time it just does 10 minute journeys to and from work...then very occasional long runs....would this clog the dpf?

I do a lot of small journeys, I've had the Sd4 11MY and currently an Evoque, annual mileage about 6,000 no problems with the DPFs in either car. On Sunday's though I like to take the car out for nice run, this probably helps keep it clean. Thumbs Up 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Thanks for the reply that's reassuring..sometimes we don't even do the Sunday run...I wonder how often it would need a run?

When SWMBO bought her Audi A3 2.0TDI, the dealer advised her to do a motorway run at least once a week. Once the car didn't go on the motorway for about 3 weeks and it was fine. We've decided to go back to a petrol, as her annual mileage isn't high enough to make a diesel worthwhile, even though the car is doing 46-50mpg (we live in a rural part of Surrey). It doesn't go on the motorway much as we use the Freelander for longer journeys.

She went to her parents in the Cotswolds today, and she said it was doing 50-55mpg. Quite good, but I still don't think having a diesel is necessary. Thumbs Up

...here Smile ...doing aprox 250 town km per week followed by 60 kms of motorway on weekends....as I have the car from December I made aprox 6000 kms and no problems so far.Two times I used DPF cleaner additive as a preventive maintainance. In my shop we also use DPF flushing liquid with great results so don't worry about the DPF Thumbs Up
