Moving on...

The time has come for me to move along, so I've part exchanged my lovely Freel2 HSE for a RRS. Big Cry Very Happy

I always promised myself that one day I'd have a Range Rover. I've wanted one from being a very small boy, since the first one came out in '71. Now 42 years on (I know I don't look over 30!) I've finally got one.

Thanks to all on this forum who have helped with tips & advice, it has been very much appreciated. I'm hoping that the RRS forum is as friendly and useful as it is on here.

I'm going to keep looking in from next door so will still be around.

Now who's going to be the first to burst my bubble & tell me that a Sport isn't a REAL Range Rover? Laughing

Russ. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

Good on ya Russben, I'm sure you will love it. I have always said I will have a FFRR sometime, but after looking seriously at them, I am more likely to get a sport because its a more reasonable size (in fact the book shows it as being less wide than the FL2). Stunning inside too. Let me know how you get on with it in comparison. Thumbs Up

RRS is less wide than fl2, not noticeable in real life , its longer obviously and a bit numb for parking, but the fl2 is hardly tiny.

boot is bigger in RRS and rear leg room much bigger, so you can pack it for holidays, putting a box of toys etc in the kids footwells without driving with the steering wheel in your chest.

For day to day driving there really isnt much difference between the two At work

Thanks CG. Does the air suspension give you a smooth ride? And how is the mpg?

air susp is indeed smooth, mpg not so good, but its mainly a school taxi short runs with cold engine, things improve after a good blast on a motorway. At work

its a nice car without doubt, I will probably get another, in 18 mths run that for 3 - 4 years unless we need a disco with the extra seats ( in the boot Shocked ) for the lads school friends/team mates. I hate the thought of kids in the boot seats or not At work

Mine just averaged 32mpg going down to Stafford & back at a steady 70 on the M6 & then 40ish on bits of A & B roads. Using cruise control it shows it's doing just over 50mpg at 50mph. To be fair, I didn't buy it for economy & I don't expect to get much more than the 32mph in real life.

The suspension does feel firmer at lower & town speeds but gets better as speeds increase on A & B roads (all within legal limits though) Thumbs Up

I'll also echo what CG says about space. Looking forward to doing some touring in it already. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!
