a good tinting company might have a meter to test the light pass through to match, if you can get access

I recently had mine done and the chap told me standard was about 13% but I went for 8% and I'm really happy with it. You can go darker but it looks a bit drug dealerish ! Be warned thought that some of the window tint places do a terrible job and some are brilliant so it's worth researching. I used http://www.autovisiontinting.co.uk/ in North Wales and they were brilliant. They file the very top of the opening windows so that there is no lip for the film to catch on or dirt to get in rather than just leaving a small gap at the top like many of the companies do. If you can, try to find the company that do the tinting for the local LR dealers.

I had mine done and chose 25% and it seems to match OEM quite well. Limo black is 5% and 75% is almost clear.

very helpful guys, i was thinking 20% before i started the thread, sounds about right to me. some good tips in there, particularly about the top window edge/filing. |

I got mine done to 23% if I remember correctly & I'm happy with the level of tint.

If you think it may look dreary inside then do as I did, just tint the rear and fixed side windows. It gave the dog some protection from the sun and offers some privacy for anything in the boot, and doesn't look out of place. |

I hardly notice the tint from inside the car & mine has a black interior. Having said that it does have the sunroofs which makes it a bit lighter inside. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!

Mine was done in the factory as part as the lux pack so I don't know the %. I like mine darker so it doesn't show the heating elements in the rear window. I built an MY13 on the LR website and it said privacy glass cost £350! I like mine but I wouldn't pay that for it. |
