Praise for the Freelander 2

Ive almost completed my first weeks ownership of my FL2 and as it is noted that most posts on this forum are of a negative nature (this is the site for sorting out problems after all!) I thought it time to extend my praise to such a wonderful vehicle so that any would-be FL2 owners know how great the vehicle is!

Firstly the looks, cannot fault the LR2 one bit, it looks brilliant from any angle and turns many heads, if you can get one with a bodykit its well worth it (provided you dont intend too much off-roading as you have a lower ground clearance!)

The driving position is faultless, the command view is fantastic, you get a clear view of everything around you and parking is a breeze, although its taking me sometime to get used to parking up to things with the front parking aid off (I end up about 3 foot off the car in front when from inside it looks like im touching it!)

The standard of finish inside is excellent, everything feels robust and hardwearing and there are no annoying rattles or squeaks.

The equipment onboard my HSE model is great and userfriendly, wingmirrors that dip when reverse gear is applied, that also light up underneath in the dark so you can see where you are walking! Satnav that offers you an alternative route when there is traffic ahead!

One downer, and it is only a little downer is the lack of space for odds and sods in the car, such as change, travel sweets, sunglasses etc. I purchased an ashtray that fits in the centre console cup holder for the change and discovered handy pockets in the front of the front seats. The doorbins are massive and the glovebox is also large. Boot space is also generous, despite mixed reviews that it isnt.

Reliability is a big issue for the FL2 after the problems with the FL1, with only 1 weeks ownership under my belt I cannot comment too much but so far so good!

I`ll second that, the FL2 is a very good car, had mine 3 weeks now, covered 1100 miles, very good drive....

The load area which looked smaller compared to my FL1, ,does have a better seat fold system,so easier to

get loads of stuff in the rear...

The only downside for now is the diesel pricing...... and I thought filling the wife`s Clio 197 with super u/lead

was costly.,.....

Where I am diesel varies from £1.12 to £1.20/litre.... 2008 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Auto, Stornoway Grey, Black interior, privacy glass

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the price of diesel. More and more people are using diesel vehicles therefore there is a world shortage of this fuel due to the lack of refineries that can produce it, and those that are producing it are running at full capacity so expect the price to rise even higher Shocked ______________________

Agreed, credit where its due - my FL2 is superb!

Was a passenger in a V8 diesel RRS today - my god that was unbeleivable, fantastic. I'll get saving.
