England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Sumatra Black
Mt Freelander

Hi all, I have had a freelander 2 xs now for around 3 months, I have been surprised by the performance for such a type of car, bags of grunt.

Will post pictures at some point.

Not much room for the kids in the Sad back though.

Anyone else find the radio struggles to keep a station?

My 2c...

My MY11 SD4 GS has bags of pull, is fine for rapid overtaking, which really surprised me.

The radio is the one area of disappointment, compared with ICE in previous cars (mostly BMs) as the sound quality is sub par (tho the CD sound is fine Confused ) and it struggles to hang on to a station / deliver decent quality in weak signal areas, where the BM radio wouldn't have a problem.

I've read reviews that report poor leg room in the back. I find that puzzling since it seems to me perfectly ample.

Overall (radio apart) I'm VERY satisfied with it. Certainly I enjoy driving it.

Is there any upgrade path for the ICE available from LR ???

I find the radio/sound system in mine brilliant, it's the HSE model so probably an upgraded system ?

How big are your kids!

I can loose the DAB signal now and again, but that's a problem with network coverage and not the car. garioch43

Its playing mp3s I find bad ... the system is slow. Add to that some times I've found the amp not startingso hqve to restart the car to hear any thing.

IF I'm feeling well off in the future I may swap as long as I don't loose the sound quality and use of speakers.

My good lady has decided after all that it is too small and that it has to go, so I have bought a Discovery and this has to go.

It is a good car, nothing wrong with it, real shame...

Rivendell funny thing is , we've just gone from a d3 to a freelander, more leg room in freelander than disco, but disco boot much bigger, and far more cubbies,

Also fuel lasts sooooooo much longer in the freelander, disco did 20mpg bodging around, the freelander is doing 34mpg.

Right here goes, I've managed to upload a couple of snaps to my gallery, now lets see if I can get em on here.

They were a couple of quick shots at the dealer.

The above is all I can manage with the ipad, I can't trim the copy line small enough to get only the selected line. I get every thing.

Any chance any of our mods could help.
