The S-line's are renown for their hard ride. Matching very low profile tyres, and a lowered hardened suspension does make them an interesting prospect for comfort. I was ok with my A5, but the other half felt every bump in the road as pain in her lower back. Even with the 18" rims on the FL2 she is far happier.

I had 2 Audi A4's between 2005-2011 and I loved them, the first one was one of my favourite cars I've owned. Obviously the FL2 is my favourite. |

It has nothing to do with the suspension on the S-Line model. I have always had sports suspension and never find it uncomfortable. It is the fact that the Audi seats have terrible support for the lower back, and they have put lumbar support on the options list! The ride is actually very very good! I don't expect to put loads of oil in a modern Diesel engine. I had four different Vauxhall 1.9 CDTi diesel's and one 3.0 V6 CDTI, and in near on 300,000 between them, I never put a drop of oil in any between services. All of them were re-mapped as well. I didn't find it uncomfortable, my other half did! However even whatcar notice the harder ride under the s-line suspension so I am not alone in noticing there is a difference. The ride height on the s-line is generally lowered by 10mm, and this has an effect on travel. add that to less rubber on the tyres with the bigger wheels, and you get the 'harder' ride I refer to.

Your not listening to what I am saying. I have not once mentioned that the S-Line is too harsh, It is not that different to the Sport model, and I don't find the ride too harsh at all. I also know how suspension works and what effect's tyres, and suspension travel have on a car. I am referring to the seats, which are generally . I have asked if the company can return my car due to it screwing up my back. But I will have to consider carefully as the lease company have said it can be returned as long as the supplying dealer buys it, and I replace it with another Audi! I think BMW and Audi are that arrogant, that they think there seats are just perfect, so they put lumbar adjustment on the options list. Unfortunately, this is not the case. They just don't offer any form of lower back support without it. If I do get the chance to change it, which unlikely as it would have to be another Audi I would for sure order with Lumbar support.
