Strange Beeping Tone ?

Hi Guys, Have developed a "Strange Beeping Tone" that goes off at least once everytime i drive the vehicle. This randomly sounds when Fl2 is being driven, usually only 2 short beeps and then stops. There are no fault lights showing in the dash, but when it sounds it makes you jump and is rather annoying. Mad

Just had software update, but it was doing the intermittent beeping before and no fault codes were found.... (MY07 HSE)

Any ideas/thoughts Question Cheers JC Thumbs Up

Temperature warning (bit chilly outside)?
A heavy bag placed on the passenger seat triggering seat belt warning??

When temp drops to 4 deg (external temp) you get a beep and the little snow flake flashes a few times. Next time it beeps take a peak at the snow flake next to the temp on the centre info panel between the dials Smile

Natwest, temperature warning could be? thanks a possibility as the display has never risen above 9c since owning the Fl2 since just before christmas.

As regards a "Heavy Bag on Front Seat" triggering seat belt warning, only one is ever put on the front seat and "Mrs Chillin" always has her seat belt on. Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter God i`m in the doghouse if she reads this post Laughing Laughing

beeper

Went home with the low fuel lamp on, the other day. Next morning it was about 2 degrees ambient. When i started the engine, the low temperature snowflake and beeper, was accompanied by the low fuel beeper. (Think it's the same beeper, actually) It was as if there was a queue to beep at me. Shocked

Mine doesn't beep either - never has. Only when the washer fluid is low.... Foraging near Gaydon....

I'm wondering if you only get the beep if for instance the temperature is 5 degrees when you are driving and the temperature then falls to 3 degrees ??

the beep then indicates a change in temperature.

Quote from Topix if you have the 'High Line' before MY10 or it's standard after.

Quote:
If the temperature value falls below 4コ C ( 39コ F) the message center will flash the low ambient air temperature icon 5 times. This is accompanied by a chime from the instrument cluster sounder. The low ambient air temperature icon will be repeated if the ambient air temperature rises above 6コ C ( 43コ F) then drops below 4コ C (39コ F) again or a new ignition cycle is started.

thanks EYorkshire,

this seems to indicate the chime will happen on a change in temperature while driving ?

when I first start up in the morning at 0 degrees it shows the snow flake in the display but no warning chime, and this may be correct ?

I do know that when the temperature passes through the 4 & 6 degrees I have heard the chime when driving, but on start up I can't really say that I have heard it, maybe it doesn't or maybe I just missed it and it is 'masked' by the startup/system check procedure.
