Today we had 5 foot drifts on the drive and the drifts on the lane are getting deeper as a constant east wind just blows powdery snow off of the fields . We took the decision not to leave the cars on the crossroads because one is 3 days new plus the Freelander is just back from the body shop, and having seen a near wreck up on the untreated road on Friday thought its not worth it. We will be pretty well stuck until we can get a tractor and bucket hired. I had next week booked off for the start of the trout season and I've bought a season ticket for the Bolton Abbey stretch of the Wharfe: some chance it will be 200. We havent seen a single drop of snow in Devon.
Just huge amaounts of rain.
Though like snow, people dont seem to slow down and drive to the conditions. There has been several accidents where people have hit standing water. One road is notorious for it, yet each year many locals have serious accidents. Makes you wonder

we've had some extremes in cumbria, some areas had nothing and some areas had 16+ ft drifts!
I believe these were taken by Wasdale mountain rescue
I was going to go for a quick drive to wasdale today but thought better of it!
Went for a run to Borrowdale near Keswick instead and round Derwent water.. stunning xmas card scenes just in time for Easter!!

Managed to get out of our lane onto the main road yesterday with the bottom of my FL2 dragging on the soft snow. Darn't risk it today as the snow has froze solid overnight.
Think we may be snowed in for several days.
