I'm only 15 miles from Ashford, we only had a few flakes then.

Good photos there folks. I can report that the Fez was at ease this morning. Cruised off the drive and the main roads were clear. Also tackled the ungritted slight incline to the car park at work without a problem. Got home just before the blizzard which is now coming down like mad! Very poor driving conditions out there now even for a FL2 because the visibility is bad. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Glad to hear the Fez was ok Doc Thumbs Up Little FWD cars are decent in snow.

I have just got in myself from Tansley and The Doctor is right, its horrendous here at the moment and yes I have the SD4 with winter tyres and could plough through with ease but the visibility is so bad that it is certainly unpleasant and I am glad to be back.

Those conti tyres sound great by the way Thumbs Up 60 plate SD4 XS, Stornoway Grey, Arm rest pack

England 2013 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Auto Sumatra Black

I took a work mate home in Huddersfield this afternoon. Dropped him in Kirkheaton, snow was settling on the road. I passed an BMW that was struggling, then passed a slow moving Audi coming the other way, could see his tyre tracks were all over the road! as I dropped back down to go to Brighouse there was a mini bus stuck, the driver and his mate was digging it out! As I was stopped for a few minutes an Evoque wound his wndow down and told me his car was only 2wd but at 2000rpm he could cruise at 76 mph and he could get 50 mpg. But the best part of my little trip was seeing the snow blow off the fields like someone was blowing icing sugar. My FL2 handled great in the snow and I was really pleased. New tyres were great too!

When I was on a dual carriageway today I couldnt believe that people were driving in the overtaking lane that was covered in slush and snow when the other lane was nice and clear and had been gritted! Some plonkers about! Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Just up the road from me there are some huge drifts, two ploughs went up this morning to attempt to clear the drifts and both became stuck, two JCB'S have been sent to get them out, they too are now stuck so the road has been closed Laughing

I'm staying in the wind is bitter whistling down off the moors.

Sweden kicks ass and doesn't struggle as much because they are used to it. There is no country like the UK for having a ridiculous change in weather over such small distances and in such a short space of time.

People say that if it was made a legal requirement for the UK to have winter tyres fitted from Oct - April, we would not grind to a halt as much and accidents would be reduced. The problem is that the UK can just as easily have a mild winter so it will never happen. Some will invest but other will forever struggle and block roads. Although, in the BBC news video, even a mighty Land Rover Defender with studded snow tyres wouldn't get through that. 60 plate SD4 XS, Stornoway Grey, Arm rest pack
