Service Plans

I've just been offered a 3 year service plan for my new 13MY FL2 from the supplying dealer.

Basically, its a 0%APR deal over 3 years that costs a total of £1125, or an average of £375/service

I see people quoting lesser amounts for 1st service and others quoting higher figures. My question is are any of the first 3 services significant/expensive ones? (don't think so but can't be sure from the handbook)

Can I assume each of the first 3 services are roughly similar cost? If so, is £375 reasonable?

PS:
My 59-plate S FL2 that I just traded in dropped in value by £200 when I admitted (? right word) that its service history was part dealer/part independent. Now of course they can't invalidate warranty, but they can (and do) offer lesser part-ex value for using non franchised dealer.

My feeling is, keep your options open, tieing your in to a three year deal means you can't play one dealer off against another and get the better deal. The prices quoted don't exactly do you any favours but guantees them your service business.

Dealer near me, knocked £500 off the trade in of a neighbours TD5 about six years ago because of using the local Indy, it was only three years old.

I was quoted £900 for 3 yrs servicing on a Dec 10 FL2 but I decided that would tie me in to go to same dealer 30 miles away so as some suggest on here set up a SO on my bank account to save the £25 quoted each month .

The only thing that protects you from is if the service costs go up.

That sounds pricey though, our local main dealer did our 4th service for £350 including brake fluid and MOT, which is much cheaper than alot of people quote for a 4th service.

I wouldn't bother, and shop around when it comes to service time. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
