My MY13 GS with leather does not have lumbar support. I had a microdiscetomy (google it) while back and find the seats supportive. Try a small hand towel rolled up maybe..... * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

I would see if you can have a prolonged test drive in the HSE before doing anything, that you can see if the HSE lumber support meets your needs Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis |

I have a 12MY XS with the same electric seats. It came off the assembly line at the same time that the first 13MY were being built.

I have a 13MY XS with electric seats which I had as an extra. There is a lumbar switch on the side of the seat which does adjust the lumbar support in the seat but it does not make a lot of difference when I have tried it. These are the same seats as in the HSE so I would assume the minimal adjustment it offers would be the same.

My 12MY XS has the ebony leather upgrade. I’ve played around with the switch when stuck in traffic today. I thought it was a simple on/off set up. To fully adjust the lumbar I have to press the switch for several minutes to get the full support. It sounds like it’s a compressor inflating an air bag. So it does work and when you get out the car and look its like a pregnant bulge!

Thanks for that. I have tried a small lumbar cushion and found that it stuck out too much to be comfortable, but maybe the ones which cover more of the whole seat would be worth a try. Gstd4-e, at least it's not just me then that thinks the 13MY spec suggests that there should be lumbar adjustment. I have spoken to the dealer where I got the car about the possibility of changing the seats for electric ones and pointed out that the wording suggests there is lumbar adjustment on the manual seats but got no response other than 'no there is definitely no lumbar adjustment on the GS seats'. I don't think I have any comeback against LR UK as they will just hide behind the small print and say that specs are subject to change and I should have checked before I bought the car. Glad your lumbar does actually work properly though! |

Having tried Gstd4-e method of pressing the switch down for longer this does indeed inflate the lumbar support as he says so thanks for that tip. You may be ok then with these seats after all if you decide to change cars. When I ordered the electric seats as an upgrade the cost was £815 but I guess it would cost more to have them fitted now. Lumbar supports should be adjusted to the point you just feel it not maxed out....
