My seven year old lad wants to go camping! I've only been camping once before and that was on an Army adventure weekend when I was 15, Can anyone reccommend a good tent? I hear with the cheap ones condensation forms in them and it then drips on you. Also, does anyone know of any decent camp sites around West Yorkshire?

Also, has anyone ever had ia fridge in their FL2? Just wondering about the battery being drained on a camping trip?

how long you going to go for? if its a weekend a good coolbox, with freezer packs in will be good enough as a lot of campsite offer a re-freezing service for a small cost

Or get a electrical hookup and a small fridge, kettle, toaster etc

If your not want to purchase a tent, to try it out then have a look at the wooden pods, which are about nowadays, then you'll will just need a sleeping mat and a sleeping bag each

I have had cheap tents and expensive one, and never had a problem with condensation, as thats normally down to lack of ventilation.

I used to use Vango or Outwell, before I upgraded to a caravan, my brother he uses Coleman, Outwell and North Face depending on which bit of grass his sleeping on and for how long

"Go Outdoors" offer some good tents at reasonable money too

Go to a posh site with hook up - it's lush! Kettle, lights, fan heater, radio etc

I did it a lot when I was a child, but with my dad. I will always remember when a Hedgehog got into his D2 and set the car alarm off at 2am!

It woke the whole campsite up.

Dont worry about a fridge but get a Coleman ice box - brilliant bit of kit!

After a few beers one night myself and a few mates planned a 'Lads & Dads' camping trip which has grown each year - great fun as we ditch the wives and play by our rules for the weekend. The children love it and great thing is between us we have all the kit we need so no need to go out and get everything.

Find a site that either has a pool (or as we do find a site that is cheap but allows camp fires and has a posh site next door with a pool) that way you can combine washing with having a swim which is something you'd never get away with with the wives around
