MY13 Facelift poor headlights!

Was out over the weekend in the pitch black having had my new FL2 for about 3 weeks.. I had a FL2 MY09 before and that was fine in the dark... But got to say this one is useless... even straight on vision is not good, lit's like a poor yellow light and not a bright white one?.. Like my MK1 Escort used to be all thoes years ago!.. and little if any side vision.. turning left and right you are literaly in the dark !! Crying or Very sad Is this a known fault?.. is there a fix??

Silly question but you do have both headlamps working do you? Someone else on here recently had both headams blown. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Check that the bulbs are fitted correctly because that can affect the beam pattern. If that's ok, get your local friendly MOT station to set the alignment on their beam setter. Thumbs Up Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Oops! Forgot it was under warranty. You're right, it's their problem, not yours. Let us know the outcome. Thumbs Up Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Got my MY13 freelander 2 weeks ago and must say that i think the standard headlights are really good.
I would get them checked out as soon as.

I don't think they do a GL in the Uk, but mine is only one up from base with standard headlights.

I've got a MY13 XS, and the headlights are pretty grim compared to my (old) MY11 GS Crying or Very sad

Just out of interest did you chaps have the bi xenon headlights in your previous motors and only halogens in this one?

TBH I have no idea.. just std bulb ones as I recall (yes.. I think I replaced one once by pulling the headlight out fowrads).. but didn't see thoes as good or bad.. I never really had an issue with them so guess they were fine.

Just caught my attention that these are a lot worst!!.. Smile

Bambi68 - yep GS was on standard halogens. Of course the new my13 now effectively only has a single headlight, the main beam lamp having been replaced by the DLR LEDs. I believe JLR say this single lamp unit puts out 80% of the old assembly due to improved optics. But in the real world they are pretty awful to drive with compared to the old dual lamp assembly
