Front cig socket

Does anyone know the part number for the front cigarette lighter socket? Are they easy to change? I dont smoke but the present socket looks rusty and my sat nav plug doesnt alway work in it.

Cheers all. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Don't know the part number but I recall Nick requiring one and it had Fomoco stamped on it.

Front socket only works when power is on, rear socket works all the time.

I'll have a go at cleaning the dirt and rust out of the socket first. Does anyone know if they are easy to change? Straight in and out job or do I need to remove the center console? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

I believe they are a pig to change, the wires are very tight.
Remove the gear lever surround, unplug the TR unit and if you have small hands you may be able to reach the wires and the base of the socket, if not its a major strip of the centre console, not difficult, just a lot of messing for the sake of socket.

Clean the contacts with some very fine emery paper and you should be OK.
Alternatively take power from F5 in the footwell and an earth from the dash metal frame behind the glovebox, fit a flying lead type accessory socket, Maplin do them, and put it in the glovebox. Drill a hole 10mm, in the bottom left hand corner of the cubby hole box and pass the sat Nav cable through into the glove box, it does away with trailing leads.

Look at this thread for ideas too http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic12741.html

Another use for cigar lighter:
Garage door opener transmitter, £55.
Both my original remotes had cratered and it was around that price to buy a new one.

Unfortunately I had to buy a receiver also because the cigar lighter one is a different frequency to the original.
Cost me £195 for transmitter and receiver to buy locally and have fitted, but there are cheaper on tinternet.

Quite chuffed to have found a use for one of two wasted accessories Now - Black 2012 FR2 SD4 XS really miss the RRS
