Help... Dipped beam

Started the car tonight on the way to the chippy and when I nearly splatter a cyclist I realised everything was looking a bit dim. Got to the chippy and realised my dipped beam was not working.

All other lights work, main beam, side lights etc. tried the switch, tried from the remote - nothing...

I have even done a hard reset! (Disconnected battery for 5 mins)

What are the chances I have blew the dipped beam filament in both bulbs? Or am I looking at a fet problem?

Could it just need clearing on the CJB or should this reset itself...?

I've already got to sort the grumbling diff and now this... Is it time to get rid I wonder Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

I'd start with fuse and bulbs. Think main and dipped are both H7 so just swap them to prove.

No fuses!!! Plan to try the bulbs tomorrow in the day light. Just can't imagine both going at exactly the same time but I could be wrong Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

Please don't take this the wrong way.... but it may be that they've gone in quick succession and you've just not noticed the first one? I've found once one has gone the other usually follows within a week or two.

Phew! Turns out both bulbs blew simultaniously - what are the chances of that?

Last time I buy halfrauds own brand 'brighter' bulbs - lasted all of about 6 months. Think I will shell out for some proper ones this time. Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

My Osram Nightbreaker + ones have been going for two winters now, I have no idea if they are better in the illumination stakes but their longevity is good Thumbs Up

Today I've fitted two night breaker plus bulbs. I got them as I recently drove down an unlit country road and was struggling to see the road in front. Hopefully the new bulbs will be better. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

I meant to say 'compared with the Halfords ones', as for better than the standard ones, yes pretty good.
